I want to be a prosecutor, but it's so discouraging, what should i do?

I've wanted to be a prosecutor for quite a while now. I'm 17 and about to graduate high school. I'm getting ready to start community college in a few months, and then i want to transfer to a UC. Then i want to go to law school and work for a career in law, specifically prosecuting. I've been doing extensive research on it, and it just seems so discouraging. They say that only the top 10% of students in law school actually get the job positions, the salaries are apparently very low and the case load is huge and instead of working 40 hours a week, you end up working 50 or more. All this makes me feel so bad, and i know that i shouldnt let other people discourage me, but i have to be realistic. Should i continue to pursue a career as a prosecutor, or should i just listen to the warnings?
