I was watching the movie Skyline...?

& im pretty confused in the ending, like okay I get that they grabbed the guys brain and he turned into a monster but he ended up remembering his true love, but that was it ! -.- The movie ended to soon! so fast without even knowing if the aliens was stopped or not?! sooo any explanation towards that would be great! Thank you :D
